To Submit Info for Arts Alerts

E-mail your info as far in advance as possible to
in the following format:
Month Date Day(s)
Event Name, City, State, time(s), Venue name, address/location. Admission fee if any. Contact info (phone, website, e-mail if relevant). A brief description of the event and performer/artist profile. Any other details helpful for recipients to take advantage of the opportunity.

What is included depends upon when information arrives and the time available for compiling it. The likelihood your submission will make it in is greatly increased if time doesn't have to be spent reformatting the information. Events in the current week and month are given priority and notable events happening later may be listed in the last section "Coming Up Later—Mark Your Calendar"

Each week The Hampshire County Arts Council shares information about performances, exhibits & other arts opportunities in Hampshire County, WV, and the surrounding region to help you take advantage of them. Since all events are subject to change, contact information is included—please verify before heading out.

The first issue each month includes information about on-going and repeating events such as open-mike sessions and classes offered regularly.

Audition, entry, exhibit and learning opportunities such as classes and workshops are included for those who might wish to participate.

Events happening in the current month are presented first. Notable events you may want to plan for in a later month or that may require advance reservations/tickets, are listed at the bottom of each Alert. (This information can also help those scheduling activities learn about events they may not want to compete with.)

While the aim is for these Alerts to be reasonably comprehensive, what is included depends upon when information arrives and the time available for compiling and formatting it. If you don't see an event you were expecting to see (such as a regular group meeting), you might want to check another source, such as the calendar on, to be sure it wasn't inadvertently left out.

The Alerts are distributed using Constant Contact, a service designed to safeguard your e-mail information. Your e-mail address will not be given to any other party. Each Alert will provide a link to unsubscribe easily using their "Safe Unsubscribe" system should you wish to do so.

If you miss an Alert or cannot access your e-mail, the current Alert is always posted on this website and can be found in the menu at left.
