A founding member, three-term co-director, many term director and treasurer of the Hampshire County Arts Council, Shari Gallery long served as HCAC’s Concerts Chair. She continues to compile e-mail ArtsScene e-letters for the Council and wears the hat of webmaster.
In her “spare” time, Gallery pursues visual arts in a varity of media, from photography and watercolor to acrylics, colored-pencil and prints. A Studio Art major at Sweet Briar College, she pursued a career in publishing in the Washington, DC, area following college, exercising her art skills in publication design.
In January 2007 Gallery mounted a display of her work upstairs at the Hampshire County Public Library.
She moved to Hampshire County with her family (writer, husband, Phil Gallery, and four kids) in 1985 and worked for many years with the WV state travel guide through her company, Gallery Communications & Marketing. In recent years she has stayed closer to home, concentrating on publication and marketing projects in the area and moving into web design. In 2007 she served as Artistic Director for The Bottling Works. She has also been a long-time volunteer at Common Ground on the Hill, where she has met many of the musicians who have performed for Hampshire County Arts Council and indulges in art classes.
