Message from the pres –

We had a wonderful party on April 20 in the Theatre in the Brannon Building on the WVSDB campus to celebrate 30 years of bringing the arts to the community. A delicious dinner, catered by the  Hampshire High School Pro-Start program, was enjoyed by 40 or so members and guests while listening to Board members share reports on what we are up to and our plans for the future. The culinary artists among us came  with their usual yummy desserts to share.
John D’Amico and Dale Brady were re-elected to the Board and Lee Ann Wiiki became our newest Director.
The “Famous International Hillbilly Singing Stars” – Frankie “Rev” Revell, Greg “Dr. Banjo” Latta, Chuck “Chuckster” Sherry,  Jake “Juke Joint” Growden and Jim “Junkyard” Morris, played an eclectic mixture of classic rock, folk, and bluegrass after dinner. Students from the WVSDB joined us for the concert in addition to another 20 or more fans of the “Singing Stars.” Members of the Ukelele Club performed two songs and Pam Francis and Elizabeth Podsiadlo also joined the Stars.
The year ahead holds a promise of more concerts, the Missoula Children’s Theatre, classes in our studios and of course, our Hampshire Highlands Art and Music Festival in September.

WVSDB Pro-Start program students prepared and served a delicious meal for the Hampshire County Arts Council annual meeting/gathering. Treasurer Alona Martin helped Nancy Williams renew her membership.
